Looking from Moscow, Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan are situated in Transcaucasia, but this region is also called the South Caucasus. In the 18th century, it was surrounded by three empires – Russia, the Ottomans (nowadays Turkey), and Persia (Iran). Names and titles in the episode: Lermontov, "A Hero of Our Time."
