MEPs have this morning been debating the outcome of last week’s EU summit and the Brexit talks.
Agreement on what to do with the post-Brexit border between Ireland and Northern Ireland remains a key barrier to achieving a deal.
The British Prime Minister Theresa May has said that the backstop deal for the border could be time-limited.
However, the Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes says the EU will not relent on the backstop deal that was agreed last December.
