Why Be Holy? (1 Peter 1:13-25)

In this text Peter presents five reasons why the believer should maintain holiness in the midst of suffering. The fact that without holiness we cannot see God demands that we continue to be holy whatever the cost. The fact that we will appear in judgment before God leads us to strive to be holy. We want to be remain holy because of the exorbitant price that was paid in order to obtain our holiness. We want to remain holy because otherwise there is no hope at all. Finally, we want to be found holy because we made a commitment to do so.
