Morning Report 14 Jul 21: US sharemarkets fell on Tuesday

Investors debated the implications of higher-than-expected inflation. But investor sentiment was supported by bumper earnings from Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase. Despite the solid results, shares in JPMorgan lost 1.5% and shares in Goldman Sachs fell by 1.2%. The Dow Jones index lost 107 points or 0.3%. The S&P 500 index fell by 0.4% and the Nasdaq eased 55.6 points or 0.4%.
