US Close 22 Dec 17: US markets rise on tax reform optimism

US sharemarkets rose on renewed investor optimism after US Congress approved the US$1.5 trillion tax bill on Wednesday. The Dow rose 55 points or 0.2%, the S&P 500 index climbed by 0.2%, while he Nasdaq was up by 4 points or 0.1%.
