The Loneliest City in America: Why is the DC Dating Scene So Bad?

For the second year in a row, the Chamber of Commerce has ranked Washington, DC as the #1 loneliest city in America. It's rare for DC to win a title, let alone back-to-back titles, but this claim to infamy is more than just a click-bait article on your timeline. It has been a running joke that I've heard ever since I moved to the nation's capital a few years ago. Talk to anyone in DC about looking for love and chances are they have a funny, sad, awkward, or all of the above dating story, perhaps multiple. As someone who managed to find love in what is described as the worst dating scene in America (and trust me it wasn't easy, I know for a fact I'm someone's awkward dating story), I wanted to know why exactly the DC dating scene has earned such a horrible reputation. So I sat down with a few friends to figure out why finding love in the District is so hard.
