Taoiseach Micheál Martin this morning expressed strong support for Ukraine’s membership of the European Union. He was speaking in the European Parliament in Strasbourg on the topic of “This is Europe”.
He told MEPs the EU should support those countries that want to join the EU in undertaking the necessary reforms and preparations to become a member. And he said, further barriers should not be placed in their way when they meet the criteria for joining
