US Close 12 Nov 18: Stocks drop on profit taking

Friday was a rough session for US stocks in what was otherwise a positive week for equities. Banks and technology companies were a weight while consumer stocks helped minimise the losses. Singles’ Day in China was a success, with Alibaba generating US$31bn in sales over the weekend. ANZ & Macquarie both trade ex-dividend today which will make it challenging for local shares to lift.
