WITH US - with the DISCOURAGED

God WITH US. This is the scandalous proclamation of Christianity. We worship a God who is over us, ruling over all of creation, but our God is not merely over us. During Advent, we celebrate the fact that God clothed Himself in human flesh and became one of us. We celebrate God's desire to be with us. Throughout the story of Christ's birth, we see that God's action is more than just general action on behalf of His creation. It is also deeply personal. The story moves from person to person, highlighting the ways that, because of Christ, God will be with different kinds of people. Each week we will be looking at a person from the birth narrative of Jesus and discovering how their part in the story highlights the ways that God is with people like them, people like you and me.
