"Based on a True Story" on Peacock is a dark comedic series that follows a struggling realtor, a former tennis star, and a plumber who seize upon the American fascination with true crime to capitalize on it, essentially creating their own true crime story to achieve fame and success, even if it means blurring the lines between reality and fiction to do so.
