The opening verses of Matthew 27 seem to portray Judas' repentance. However, the chief priests and elders emerge as the primary actors, exhibiting the same behavior as that of the scribes and Pharisees who opposed and rejected Jesus.

Big Idea: Without Christ, there’s only hopelessness and hypocrisy.
