Mid-Session 17 Dec 19: Banks weigh as ASX falters at lunch

The ASX 200 is within touching distance of fresh record highs but the index is being dragged by the performance of financials & the major banks in particular. ANZ & Westpac are easing most & offsetting improvements from tech, materials & consumer stocks.
