Market Close 24 June 19: Shares overcome early jitters to close higher

The Australian sharemarket has recovered from a soft start with the ASX 200 being down by as much as 30 points following a weak lead from Wall St. Improvements for banks, miners and telcos also provided the impetus to drive the broader market higher, overcoming losses for consumer stocks.
