After becoming suddenly disabled in 2019 and struggling to come to terms as her life was turned upside down, Sandie found joy through acceptance and recognizing that disability is not a bad word.. Sandie has spoken on television and radio, as a body confidence advocate and expert, a number of times. When Sandie became a full time wheelchair user at the age of 48, it was obviously a major turning point in her life, but as she says, it was not for the worse - it was for the better! People only see the negative aspects of disability and not the ways it can transform your life for the better.

Sandie hopes to inspire listeners that adversity can be seen as the driving force for evolution rather than something that has to be merely "overcome". For her, being gifted with the force of life comes with a responsibility to use her difficulties to fuel personal growth, for the purpose of helping those whose lives she is lucky enough to touch.
