US Close 24 Jan 17: US still lower but Tech and Banks reduced losses.

US sharemarkets fell modestly on Monday. Analysts said that investors have become wary about lifting exposure to stocks until President Trump's agenda is more fully revealed. Defensive sectors like telecoms and real estate were best supported. Share in Qualcomm fell by 12.7% after Apple filed a $1 billion lawsuit against the chip supplier. At the close of trade the Dow Jones index was lower by 27 points or 0.1% after being down 95 points. The S&P 500 index was down by 0.3% while the Nasdaq was down by 2.4 points or less than 0.1%.
