House of Gucci and Ghostbusters

1. "House of Gucci" is a fashionably appointed melodrama about the wealthy family behind the Italian firm associated with high-end fashion. In this podcast episode, HCC film professors Marie Westhaver and Mike Giuliano agree that the film emphasizes the family drama and would benefit from telling us more about the clothes. As Mike points out, though, the film has eye candy appeal thanks to director Ridley Scott's visual presentation of this rich and famous family. And there is an impressive cast including Lady Gaga, Adam Driver, Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Salma Hayek and Jared Leto. Marie and Mike also discuss "Ghostbusters: Afterlife," the fourth installment in this popular franchise. This latest version is reasonably entertaining but will have the most appeal for the fan base.
