S&P Futures are showing weakness this morning with as trade tension remains the key narrative. China responded to Trump's tariffs with a series of retaliatory measures. China's regulatory body said it would begin an antitrust investigation into Google over alleged anti-competitive market behavior.
Talks are expected between Trump & XI in the coming days. After the bell today watch for earnings from AMD, AMGN GOOG, & SNAP. Two economic reports out today, the JOLT's report and Factory orders. The White House is said to be considering actions to dismantle the Dept of Education. European markets are lower with trade tensions remain the key focus. Oil prices are lower as Trump pauses tariff action on Canada and Mexico. Trump's reversal on tariffs on Columbia, Mexico and Canada are an indication that his actions were done for headlines and are a negotiating tool, however the risks of a trade war remain elevated.
