Welcome to Episode #94 of American Real. This week, we bring you Daniel Masciari, an up and coming filmmaker and editor with a focus on telling the untold stories of everyday life. Daniel describes his technique of using ordinary places to uncover beauty in unexpected locations. He is in the midst of producing his first independent feature film, Stationed at Home, and discusses all that goes into it. A true storyteller, Daniel provides an inside view of the film's storyline and the essence of the main characters; what it’s like to meet a stranger, getting to know that stranger and then going on an adventure with them finding magic in the moment—ultimately realizing they’ve been home the entire time. We discuss the importance of why he chose Binghamton as the area to make the film, the feeling of yearning it has, and how all of the actors in the film are Meisner trained with its "in the moment" technique.
