Market Close 6 September 19: Shares finish the week on a high

Local shares have finished higher for a third straight week with the ASX 200 gaining 34pts or 0.52 per cent to 6647 on Friday. Investors’ appetite for risk assets returned as trade fears eased over the past 24 hours. Growth stocks were the most improved for the day with the IT sector seeing the largest percentage gain while defensives such as gold and utilities lagged.
