US Market Close 14 Feb 17: US markets gain on Trump trade; S&P hits $20 trillion in market cap

US sharemarkets continued to rally on Monday. Positive earnings results are supporting prices together with the hope that US President Trump will announce tax cuts in the next 2-3 weeks. At the close of trade the Dow Jones index was up by 143 points or 0.7% after being up 172 points at one stage. The S&P 500 index was up by 0.5% while the Nasdaq was higher by almost 30 points or 0.5%.
