Morning Report 30 Mar 22: ASX poised for another positive start

US sharemarkets were firmer on Tuesday. Reuters noted that stocks were "lifted by signs of progress in peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, while a widely tracked part of the Treasury yield curve flashed warning signs for the economy as it neared inversion." The energy sector fell 0.4% as oil prices eased. The Dow Jones index rose by 338 points or 1.0%. The S&P 500 index rose by 1.2% and the Nasdaq index rose by 265 points or 1.8%.
