Market Close 23 May 22: Markets pulled back as Beijing Covid cases lift

The Australian sharemarket finished almost completely flat on Monday, despite gains for our major mining and energy stocks. A softer open in China and Beijing reporting a record number of Covid-19 cases in the current outbreak seemed to weigh.
