A brief synopsis:

Memory preserves the essence of relationships, both with loved ones and with Jesus. In Communion, we are asked to remember Jesus's life and teachings, especially in the face of efforts—such as crucifixion—that aimed to erase his presence from history. Just as families pass down stories to honor their ancestors, so too should the church remember and embody Jesus's message of love and grace.
