The UK will find itself at the back of the queue when it comes to striking future trade deals post-Brexit.
That’s the verdict of the Fine Gael MEP Brian Hayes. The European Parliament this week gave the green light to a new EU-Singapore trade deal. However, Britain will have to renegotiate its own deal with Singapore once it leaves the EU.
Brian Hayes says the UK will not be able to compete with the trading bloc when it comes to brokering such deals in the future.
