Market Close 5 Jul 21: NSW’s COVID-19 spike takes shine off gains

The Australian sharemarket edged higher by 0.09% on Monday, with a 33% surge in Sydney Airport shares helping most thanks to a $22bn takeover from a group of interested investors. The RBA will hold a highly anticipated monthly meeting on policy tomorrow.
