Pathway to Recovery – Part One

The return of parts of Victoria to Stage 3 lockdown has led to a revision in Australia’s economic outlook. It also serves as a timely reminder of the risks to the economic outlook. In this podcast, part one of a two part series title Pathway to Recovery, Stephen Halmarick, Chief Economist and Belinda Allen, Senior Economist discuss the current economic outlook as well as the role of monetary policy and fiscal policy in the recovery. Stephen also highlights the main risks to the outlook including rising coronavirus cases, the end of policy support, population growth and China-Australia trade tensions.
