Steps for Success:

1. Setting correct goals
   1. What are your goals for life?
   2. Are you building your life on the rock…or the sand?
2. Evaluating yourself
   1. Honest and thorough self-assessment…often…is important
   2. Don’t be afraid of asking other wise individuals in your life for their assessment as well
3. Growing your heart, mind, and strength
   1. This is an ongoing process - once the seed of success is planted, you need to allow it to grow and mature
   2. Look to grow and mature in all aspects of your life, don’t allow the Enemy to get you to become one-dimensional
4. Building strong community
   1. The Enemy wants you to be isolated and alone - look to build a strong community of wise counsel
   2. Remember friends are people who tell you the most truth, who seek your best even if it costs them!
5. Inviting wise counsel
   1. Look for constructive criticism, words of wisdom and correction may sting for a minute, but will be sweet in the long-run
   2. Inviting wise counsel means that you have to ignore unwise counsel - be careful who you let speak into your life
6. Discipling younger believers
   1. Everyone needs a “Paul” to pour truth into them…and a “Timothy” to pour truth into!
   2. If you don’t have that “Paul” at this moment, at least find a “Timothy” to pour into
7. Reaching lost people
   1. One of the greatest motivations for growth and maturing is having to answer the questions of others
   2. Don’t be so focused on your own journey that you forget to take others with you!
8. Expanding your heart, mind, and strength
   1. Even Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and in favor with God and with man (Luke 2:52) - and so should you!
   2. If you’re not expanding…your probably shrinking
