Microsoft Doubles Down on AI
Hey Strangers, #microsoft #fired #ai "Microsoft is thriving," said CEO and chairman Satya Nadella in a new statement following a round of layoffs earlier this month that cost 9000 employees their jobs. The statement, shared publicly and with Microsoft employees, reiterates the company's mission, with Nadella doubling down on the importance of AI.First, he acknowledged the layoffs. "I want to express my sincere gratitude to those who have left," he said. "Their contributions have shaped who we are as a company, helping build the foundation we stand on today. And for that, I am deeply grateful."He continued: "I also want to acknowledge the uncertainty and seeming incongruence of the times we're in. By every objective measure, Microsoft is thriving - our market performance, strategic positioning, and growth all point up and to the right. We're investing more in CapEx than ever before. Our overall headcount is relatively unchanged, and some of the talent and expertise in our industry and at Microsoft is being recognised and rewarded at levels never seen before. And yet, at the same time, we've undergone layoffs."This is the enigma of success in an industry that has no franchise value. Progress isn't linear. It's dynamic, sometimes dissonant, and always demanding. But it's also a new opportunity for us to shape, lead through, and have greater impact than ever before."It's clear that AI is now at the heart of Microsoft, as Nadella stated its three business priorities are security, quality, and AI transformation. "We are doubling down on the fundamentals while continuing to define new frontiers in AI," he said.=======================================My other podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw**************************************************Something Strangehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s**************************************************article links:https://www.eurogamer.net/microsoft-is-thriving-claims-ceo-doubling-down-on-ai-after-9000-employees-lost-jobs-in-latest-layoffs======================================Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discordhttps://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxqTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoderYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1Twitchhttps://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangersTwitterhttps://twitter.com/strangestcodermerchSupport CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Why 6 Figure Jobs Are Losing Their Luster
Hey Strangers, #genz #jobs #6figures A new survey release by Indeed and Harris Poll shows that nearly 40% of Gen Z and millennial workers (ages 18-34) said they would leave a job because of political differences at work, and 40% said they would leave if their CEO expressed political views they disagreed with. Overall, 28% of workers would consider resigning over political differences, and 32% might leave if the CEO expressed views they disagreed with, Indeed found. It’s rare for everyone in a workplace to share the same political views. Employees who find themselves in the political minority may feel trapped in a toxic work environment if it’s not handled properly. The survey found that 39% of respondents experienced social pressure to align with a particular political perspective at work. Additionally, 39% reported instances of discrimination or harassment based on their political beliefs, and nearly 16% admitted to avoiding colleagues who hold different political views.=======================================My other podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw**************************************************Something Strangehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s**************************************************article links:https://www.sbam.org/40-of-gen-z-and-millennial-workers-would-quit-a-job-over-political-differences-in-the-workplace/https://www.cnbc.com/2024/08/22/gen-zers-and-millennials-are-increasingly-rejecting-corporate-loyalty.htmlhttps://www.businessinsider.com/gen-z-sick-leave-pto-mental-health-work-from-home-2024-8======================================Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discordhttps://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxqTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoderYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/@codingwithstrangersTwitchhttps://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangersTwitterhttps://twitter.com/strangestcodermerchSupport CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. U.S. Falling Behind China in AI-Powered Education
Hey Strangers, #Ai #school #america ust two years ago, Lorraine He, now a 24-year-old law student, was told to avoid using AI for her assignments. At the time, to get around a national block on ChatGPT, students had to buy a mirror-site version from a secondhand marketplace. Its use was common, but it was at best tolerated and more often frowned upon. Now, her professors no longer warn students against using AI. Instead, they’re encouraged to use it—as long as they follow best practices. She is far from alone. Just like those in the West, Chinese universities are going through a quiet revolution. According to a recent survey by the Mycos Institute, a Chinese higher-education research group, the use of generative AI on campus has become nearly universal. The same survey reports that just 1% of university faculty and students in China reported never using AI tools in their studies or work. Nearly 60% said they used them frequently—either multiple times a day or several times a week.=======================================My other podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw**************************************************Something Strangehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GRjVc2TZqN4&t=4s**************************************************article links:https://www.technologyreview.com/2025/07/28/1120747/chinese-universities-ai-use/?utm_medium=tr_social&utm_source=reddit&utm_campaign=site_visitor.unpaid.engagement======================================Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discordhttps://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxqTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoderYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1Twitchhttps://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangersTwitterhttps://twitter.com/strangestcodermerchSupport CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch. Why I Could NEVER Work From Home!
Working From Home is Hurting Your CareerHey Strangers, #career #jobs #workfromhome I’m a big fan of having the option to work from home, and I believe every company should offer this amenity to its employees. Sure, there are some jobs in which this isn’t possible—I can’t imagine an ER doctor operating out of his living room—but keeping employees locked up in an office building every hour of every day for no good reason just bothers me.=======================================My other podcasthttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCKpvBEElSl1dD72Y5gtepkw**************************************************Pizza Party https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWIgGxr4VXk**************************************************article links:https://www.themuse.com/advice/in-defense-of-the-office-4-reasons-working-from-homes-totally-overrated======================================Today is for push-ups and Programming and I am all done doing push-ups Discordhttps://discord.gg/MYvNgYYFxqTikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@strangestcoderYoutubehttps://www.youtube.com/channel/UCe9xwdRW2D7RYwlp6pRGOvQ?sub_confirmation=1Twitchhttps://www.twitch.tv/CodingWithStrangersTwitterhttps://twitter.com/strangestcodermerchSupport CodingWithStrangers IRL by purchasing some merch.
