"Will There Be A Rapture?" - AP
"The average *individual is aware of the periodic claim that “the end is near.” When Y2K was approaching, outcries of doom, global disruption, and Armageddon were widespread. Hal Lindsey achieved nationwide attention over thirty years ago with his national bestseller The Late Great Planet Earth (1970). A more recent repackaging of the dispensational brand of premillennialism is the popular Left Behind book series (see “The Official…”). Every so often, a religious figure captures national attention, announcing the impending return of Jesus—even to the point of setting a date—only to fade into the anonymity from which he arose when his claim falls flat, but having achieved his “fifteen minutes of fame” (see Whisenant, 1989). The sensationalism sells well and piques the curiosity of large numbers of people. Incredibly, this pattern has been repeating itself literally for centuries!" - AP Get full access to Stephane’s Substack at addedsouls.substack.com/subscribe

"Going Beyond Salvation Slogans." - AP
“Romans 10:9-10: Going Beyond Salvation Slogans.“It is quite common in religious discussions—especially with those in various denominations within Christendom—to hear someone say, “All you have to do to be saved is accept Jesus into your heart,” or, “Just say the sinner’s prayer and you will be saved.” Often accompanying such statements is a quick citation of Romans 10:9-10:1 “[I]f you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” - APIn our Session this day we return to our Friends @AP to read an article regarding doctrinal matters. May our hearts be humble and willing to reason with the Words of the Holy Spirit. Peace to all who seek (Mt. 6:33) the truth (Jn. 8:32).
