The Our Lady of Zeitoun manifestation was a series of mass sightings reported between 1968 and 1971 in Cairo, where thousands of people claimed to see a luminous figure identified as the Virgin Mary above St. Mary’s Coptic Orthodox Church. Witnesses from different religious backgrounds described a glowing, silent presence appearing repeatedly over the church, often surrounded by radiant light.The phenomenon gained international attention due to the large crowds, photographic evidence, and the absence of a single visionary.
