HLTCO Football Podcast - 27.03.2026 - A Miserable Night For Wales, ROI & Northern Ireland + A Round-Up Of The Other Five European Play-Off Semis & My Plan For The Podcast Next Week
It was an evening which promised a great deal for the likes of Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland but when all was said and done, the three of them had all bowed out of contention for a place at this summer's World Cup, losing to Bosnia & Herzegovina, Czech Republic and Italy respectively, the first two of which arrived with the extra angst of a penalty shoot-out.There were five other European play-off semi-finals played alongside that trio, with plenty to discuss in each of them, as well as an update from me on my plans for the podcast next week. I'm heading off on a family holiday for my little boy's seventh birthday but thanks to a Patreon update, I am now able to record and upload podcasts for you on the move, so I don't intend to leave you without anything to listen to for the week.Happy Friday.
HLTCO Palace Podcast - 27.03.2026 - Cabal Talk Heats Up, A Pinch Of Salt Over Simon Jordan's Latest Monologue + My Plan For Next Week
It sounds as though there's genuine potential in a summer move for Juventus man Juan Cabal based on the latest batch of reporting and given his positional profile and our current needs, I have to say, I'm seeing the vision, with or without a manager in place for the summer. That particular topic is something Simon Jordan has been weighing in on over the last 24 hours, with the former Palace owner being quick to pour cold water on the idea of Andoni Iraola turning down a switch to SE25; I don't necessarily make him wrong in terms of the end point but I feel that the logic used by him to reach that conclusion wades too far into personal point-scoring than it should. There's also a little bit ofv a life update ahead of next week; I'm away on a family hollday for my little boy's birthday but don't intend to leave you high and dry podcast wise.Happy Friday.
HLTCO Football Podcast - 26.03.2026 - Tonight Could Be One Of The Most Engrossing Evening's Of Football In Many A Year
I know plenty of people get turned off by international breaks but tonight, we've got eight one off play-off fixtures to decide the final European participants in this summer's World Cup, with the likes of Wales, Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland all in action as part of it. Turkey kick off at 5pm in Istanbul, Italy host Northern Ireland in Bergamo desperate not to make it three straight World Cups missed, Wales will be relying on home backing and the Republic of Ireland travel to Prague with odds stacked against them but a real inner steel having grown in recent times. I can't wait.Happy Thursday.
