Revelation 17:8–13 — How the Antichrist Becomes Global Dictator
In this final episode about the Antichrist, I examine Revelation 17:8–13, which gives us the last major biblical description of his activities and focuses specifically on his amazing political power in the end times. This passage describes the beast that “was, is not, and will come”—referring to the Antichrist’s death by assassination, his descent to the abyss, and his resurrection at the midpoint of the Tribulation when he’ll be completely taken over by Satan. The passage reveals seven heads representing seven sequential empires throughout history: five that have fallen (Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Medo-Persia, Greece), one that existed when John wrote (Rome), and a seventh yet to come (the revived Roman Empire). The Antichrist emerges from this seventh empire but establishes an eighth—his own global kingdom. The ten horns represent ten kings who will initially rule the reunited Roman Empire simultaneously, but they will transfer all their power and authority to the Beast, allowing him to establish global dominion. This transfer of power happens after the Antichrist’s death and resurrection amazes the world, though Daniel 7 tells us three of these kings will initially resist him before being uprooted. The passage emphasizes that despite his apparent power, the Beast “goes to destruction”—reminding us that God remains in control and this global dictator’s doom is certain. The movements we see in our world today toward globalization and consolidation of power suggest this prophecy may not be far from fulfillment.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point! It traces God's prophetic program from the Old Testament through the eternal state. What's particularly noteworthy is how current events align with ancient predictions—Israel's restoration, technological advances enabling global surveillance, and the geopolitical alignment of nations mentioned in Ezekiel 38–39.The timeline identifies key prophetic milestones: the Rapture preceding the Tribulation, the rise of Antichrist, the rebuilt Temple, and Christ's Second Coming. While some debate the timing of particular events like the Gog-Magog War, the overall framework reflects solid Bible research. Hot Mic Moment! Putin and Xi Discuss Antichrist-Like Immortality
I examine a fascinating hot mic moment between Putin, Xi Jinping, and Kim Jong Un at a Beijing military parade—their first meeting together. While discussing biotechnology, Putin’s interpreter mentioned how “human organs can be continuously transplanted” to “achieve immortality,” and Xi responded that humans may live to 150 years old this century. This reveals a chilling mindset among these dictators who want to live forever so they can rule forever, with no accountability to their Creator. This conversation provides a window into megalomaniac thinking that I believe foreshadows the coming Antichrist’s attitude. When the Antichrist is violently assassinated and returns from the abyss, totally taken over by Satan, I believe he’ll be so intoxicated with power that he’ll believe he’s immortal. This will drive him to declare himself God at the midpoint of the Tribulation. Interestingly, at Armageddon, Jesus doesn’t take the Antichrist’s life but casts him alive into the lake of fire—as if saying, “You believe you’re God and can live forever? Then experience the second death of eternal separation from Me.” Only God has inherent immortality, and while we all will live forever somewhere, we must choose where through our relationship with Jesus Christ.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point! Daniel 11:36–45—The Willful King
In this episode, I examine one of the main prophecies about the coming Antichrist found in Daniel 11:36–45, where he’s called “the king who does as he pleases” or the “willful king.” This passage provides a comprehensive overview of the Antichrist’s career from beginning to end, culminating with the simple but profound statement: “he will come to his end and no one will help him.”I explain the transition in Daniel chapter 11 from the historical figure of Antiochus Epiphanes (who serves as a prototype of the Antichrist) to the future end-times ruler beginning in verse 36. This willful king will be totally self-absorbed, exalting himself above every god and speaking unheard-of blasphemies against the God of gods. He’ll show no regard for any deity—neither the gods of his ancestors nor “the one desired by women” (likely referring to the Messiah). Instead, he’ll worship Satan, “a god of fortresses” unknown to his ancestors. The passage describes his military campaigns during the time of the end, including what I believe is his response to the Gog-Magog invasion described in Ezekiel chapters 38–39. When the King of the South and King of the North attack (likely the nations that invade Israel), the Antichrist will use this power vacuum to sweep through many countries like a flood. He’ll invade Egypt and North Africa, then return to Israel when alarmed by reports from the east and north, setting up his headquarters between the seas and the Holy Mountain in Jerusalem. The passage then abruptly jumps to his final destruction, reminding us that God will easily overcome the greatest concentration of evil in human history. This should encourage us that if God can defeat the ultimate evil of the future, He can certainly handle the challenges we face today.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point! Billionaires See the Antichrist Coming While Pastors Avoid Prophecy
On this program, I examine a fascinating development—Peter Thiel, the billionaire co-founder of PayPal and early Facebook investor, is delivering sold-out private lectures about the Antichrist at San Francisco’s Commonwealth Club. Despite being an openly gay, libertarian venture capitalist worth over $20 billion, Thiel is deeply engaged with biblical prophecy, using Daniel, Thessalonians, and Revelation as his primary sources. He’s developed what he calls “the plot hole” theory—that the Antichrist will use fear of nuclear weapons, AI, pandemics, and global catastrophe to scare people, then offer to save them with the slogan “peace and safety” from 1 Thessalonians 5.This raises a sobering question: Why is a secular tech billionaire talking about the Antichrist when so many pastors won’t? Paul taught new believers in Thessalonica about the Antichrist, the Rapture, and the Day of the Lord in just 6 to 8 weeks, giving them a crash course in eschatology. Yet today, most churches have abandoned teaching prophecy altogether. When secularists begin to wake up to the rise of the Antichrist, it should wake the Church to the nearness of Christ’s coming. In the second half, I continue our exposition of Revelation with chapter 14:1–5, examining the triumphant 144,000 who stand with the Lamb on Mount Zion. After the darkness of chapter 13’s focus on the Beast and his Mark, chapter 14 provides an interlude of encouragement—a preview of coming attractions showing God’s ultimate victory. I explore five characteristics of these conquerors: they are preserved (all 144,000 make it through the Tribulation), purchased (bought from the slave market of sin), praising (singing a new song only they know), pure (celibate male virgins devoted entirely to the Lord), and pursuing (following the Lamb wherever He goes). Their example calls us to live triumphantly in our own challenging times.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point! Daniel 7:8, 24—The Little Horn
In this episode, I examine what I believe is the first clear passage in all of Scripture that mentions the coming Antichrist—Daniel 7:8,24, where he’s called “the little horn.” This passage serves as the biblical origin point for understanding this future world ruler, who appears in about 100 passages throughout Scripture. Building on the foundation of Daniel chapter 2’s metallic image showing successive world empires, Daniel 7 presents these same empires from God’s perspective as wild beasts—Babylon as a lion, Medo-Persia as a bear, Greece as a four-headed leopard, and Rome as a terrible, destructive beast. The key addition in Daniel 7 is the ten horns on the fourth beast, representing ten individual kings who will rule a reunited Roman Empire in the End Times. Among these ten horns, a “little horn” emerges—initially small and inconspicuous but quickly rising to power by uprooting three of the original horns who oppose him. This little horn has “eyes like the eyes of a human being and a mouth that speaks boastfully,” indicating he’s a man who will become the greatest boaster of all time, ultimately declaring himself to be God.This passage reveals why it’s fruitless speculation to try identifying the Antichrist today—he’ll begin as a “little horn,” an insignificant figure who catapults to power after the Rapture. For three and a half years (time, times, and half a time), he’ll persecute God’s people, change times and laws, and exercise unprecedented global control. The progressive revelation in Daniel shows us a world leader unlike any in history, and our current global setup appears ready for such a figure, reminding us to stay prepared for Christ’s return.Support Tipping Point MinistriesTo help us produce more content like this please consider supporting Tipping Point!
