Then looking at Haydock's fixture tomorrow, we hear from Ollie Sangster and Owen Burrows on their fancied runners in the pattern races. Finally, ahead of tomorrow's Shergar Cup, Robbie Dolan looks forward to having his first ride at Ascot.

Josh in for Nick and joined by Racing Post's Jonathan Harding on this Friday's episode. On the show, we catch up with Robbie Power to reflect on the retirement of 2021 Cheltenham Gold Cup hero Minella Indo, one of the great staying chasers of recent years. Trainer Owen Burrows joins us to discuss his Group 1 aspirations for Waardah, impressive winner of the Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood, as well as exciting two-year-old debut winner Touleen, and Royal Dubai, who lines up in the Group 3 Betfred Rose of Lancaster Stakes at Haydock tomorrow. We also hear from Ollie Sangster on Shuwari, as she returns to action in the Listed Dick Hern Stakes. Plus, US-based rider Katy Davis shares her excitement ahead of the Shergar Cup at Ascot this Saturday.

Tom in for Nick again and joined by broadcaster Jane Mangan. We start with the the story in Ireland that has been developing since last week with the announcement that Thurles Racecourse was to close with immediate effect. We ask what the next step might be for Thurles and what the current landscape looks like in Ireland for other racecourses. General Manager of Gowran Park Eddie Scally gives his views and outlines a difficult financial climate in Ireland for racecourses. Jane also gives her views on the 2026 UK fixture list published yesterday with emphasis on a dwindling foal crop. It's Shergar Cup weekend and we hear from Robbie Dolan and Per-Andres Grabergb both riding at the meeting on Saturday. Plus Neil Channing is along to give his views on a Guardian article penned by former Prime Minister Gordon Brown who argues for the need to raise gambling taxation.

Ep 1327 - BHA publishes 2026 Fixture List

Tom Stanley in for Nick and joined by the Director Of Racing at the BHA Richard Wayman. Richard takes us through the 2026 fixture list and the key changes being made as we go into next year. Lee Mottershead joins and highlights the positive implications of the changes made while also asking whether further and more sweeping amendments are going to be needed in years to come. Ascot's Will Aitkenhead is along to take us through the Group 1 entries to QIPCO British Champions Day and touches on the new 2yo race at the meeting and Tom and Lee also touch on the Betfred St Leger entries. Lee also spins through the Cox Plate and Caufield Cup entries which were released yesterday. Charlotte has news from the Saratoga Sale in conversation with Allaire Ryan from Lane's End Farm and we hear from trainer David Loughnane who is set to saddle Do Bronxs in this weekend's Keeneland Phoenix Stakes.

Tom in for Nick and joined initially by trainer Kevin Ryan who has opted to send Inisherin to the Prix Maurice de Gheest this weekend over a possible tilt over seven furlongs at York. Kevin tells us why a trip to France is on the cards and David Yates, today’s pundit, gives his thoughts. Dave also reflects on Goodwood last week from both a racing perspective and on the news that attendances were up on last year, continuing a theme in the UK. Charlotte has been chatting to Mike Repole after night 1 of the Saratoga Sale and Mike takes us through his purchases. Sabrina Barnwell, President of IEVA, is along to tell us bout next week’s Equine Industry Summit at Gowran Park. Jason Singh takes us through some of the highlights of the Tattersalls Book 1 October Yearling Sales Catalogue which is online now. Plus we have our regular Tuesday segments with Timeform’s Dan Barber and Weatherbys, where this week we speak to owner breeder Phil Cunningham who owns Saturday’s Stewards’ Cup winner Two Tribes.
