#350 Final Episode - Ozzy Osbourne Special
Well, friends, the time has come...After eight amazing years and 350 incredible episodes - not to mention life-changing conversations - it is time to place a well-earned full stop at the end of this outstanding chapter. Life In The Stocks is going on indefinite hiatus.I want to thank each and every one of my amazing guests, and everyone who helped facilitate these interviews and assisted in bringing them to life. And most of all, I want to thank each and every one of you for listening to and supporting the show. It's been an incredible journey. I felt like it would be a fitting way to go out with this Ozzy Osbourne Special that I recorded for Team Rock Radio back in 2015 - Ten Years Ago!!!Sadly, I was unable to attend the Back to the Beginning Final Black Sabbath / Ozzy Osbourne Show in Birmingham on July. But as a Birmingham boy, Ozzy will always be one of my greatest heroes, and I would like to cap off this chapter of my creative path with a tribute to the greatest Brummie lad who ever lived. Ozzy is a true working class and hometown hero. There will never be another one like him. And I can't think of any better way to sign off and say sayonara!!! So here it is...ALL ABOARD the Ozzy Osbourne Special...LET'S GO CRAZY!!!I'll see you down the road friends. Thank you for everything. It's been emotional. X Hosted on Acast. #347 Mike Squires (Ugly Kid Joe/Loaded/Duff McKagan/Peter Hook & the Light)
We're rapidly approaching the end of Series Four of Life In The Stocks, at which point the podcast will be going on hiatus. I hope you've enjoyed this recent run of guests and conversations. The main thing that strikes me as I prepare to take a break from the show - and as I look back on all the people I've been lucky enough to interview over the years - is all the wonderful friendships and connections that I've made along the way. Thank you to everyone who's been a part of the journey. Mike Squires is someone I first met 12 years ago whilst working at Kerrang! Radio, when he was out on the road with Duff McKagan. Whit Crane was also there that day, and as well still playing with Duff, Mike now also plays with Ugly Kid Joe. That's a perfect metaphor for the symbiotic nature of this business. When it's good it's great - there's nothing quite like it. And it all seems to come full circle eventually. I know Mike can attest to that. This was a really wonderful conversation and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Be sure to check out Mike's podcast Couch Riffs whilst you're at it. And look out for him on bass on tour with Duff McKagan this October.Follow me on Facebook / Instagram: @mattstocksdjMy first two books (Life In The Stocks Volume One & Two) are also out NOW and available to buy from all reputable online book stores. #346 Kelly LeMieux (Goldfinger/Buckcherry/Fear/MD.45/22 Jacks)
Kelly LeMieux from Goldfinger and Buckcherry is my guest for Episode 346 of Life In The Stocks. Kelly is one of the most enthusiastic and stoked people I've met through music. His positive energy is infectious and he's got a great attitude towards both life and the business. We get into the full scope of it here, from the early days of the Electric Love Hogs with John Feldmann to his longstanding friendships and relationships with Feldy, Charlie and Darrin from Goldfinger. Having now had all those guys on the podcast, I'd love to see them all bury the hatchet and play together again. We shall see. Thanks to Kelly for a great talk: this episode offers all kinds of interesting insights into the LA music scene from the 1980s to the present day.
