S.E.N.D. Help! With AuDHDacious Humans!
Martha and Jenni met as teachers at the same progressive school where their kids werestudents and became each other's children's key teachers. Jenni ran mini shopping trolleyraces down corridors with Martha's son for vestibular regulation. Martha provided Jenni'sdaughters with peanut balls to bounce on so they could focus enough to write andcalculate Maths whilst reciting favourite Bluey episodes.Despite 40 years combined teaching experience and knowing exactly whatneurodivergent children needed, they both realised their own AuDHD/PDA kids weren'tschool-shaped. Not even alternative-school-shaped. So over 3 years ago, they left theirteaching jobs and the education system and started their real education. When they couldn't find home ed clubs that could accommodate their demand-avoidantchildren, they created Make & Create Club: a flexible, low-demand space where rulemakers, rule breakers thrive. They offer community, advocacy and the freedom to beyourself. Now through AuDHDacious Humans, they provide online support for discombobulatedfamilies to understand sensory systems, reframe behaviour, and ditch systems that breakthem. They've lived this experience too, as late-diagnosed AuDHDers, parenting pressure-sensitive children, unravelling everything they thought they knew about parenting and education. Some people call it a journey. They call it a reckoning.Website: www.audhdacious.comEmail: team@audhdacious.comInstagram: @audhdacious.humansBuy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!
Comedy, Chaos & Creative Clarity! With Jason Blackman!
Jason Blackman is a 3x Emmy winning comedy writer and creator. His credits include The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Little Ellen, an animated musical series he co-created, wrote, and produced for HBO Max and Warner Bros. Animation. Jason also makes funny videos about what it’s like living with ADHD, which is how I found him one night when i was randomly having a scroll through Instagram. I had a brilliant chat with Jason, he's a naturally funny person, but he also shared another side of his personality in this interview.Check him out on Instagram Buy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!
Addiction Or Anticipation Of Reward...? With Dr Alex Conner
I've completed the collection! Today I have the final member of the ADHD Adults joining me on the podcast. Dr Alex Conner is here to talk about what i thought was addiction but now, thanks to Alex, I'm viewing it completely differently. I had a brilliant chat with Alex but please listen with caution this week as we cover some things that may be triggering to some people. We also go off on some mega tangents! Enjoy! For those of you who aren't familiar with Alex...Alex has combined his experience as an adult with ADHD, an ADHD coach and a brain scientist to become a trusted voice in psychoeducation in the ADHD community.Alex is sometimes known as“The Psychoeducation Monkey, as the co-founder and co-host of one of the UK’s most popular ADHD podcasts: ‘The ADHD Adults’. The podcast is one of the ways in which Alex (with his friend and colleague James Brown), communicate the complex evidence behind the causes and treatments of ADHD. Together they combat stigma and disinformation around ADHD and co-founded the registered advocacy and psychoeducational charity “ADHDadultUK” and their evidence-based online magazine for adults with ADHD, Focusmag.uk.Buy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!
Celebrating Our Weird! With Holly Matthews
As we all know, the reason I named the podcast AuDHD Or Just A Bit Weird is because that's what I've always been called throughout my life and always in a derogatory manner... But since starting the podcast I've reclaimed weird as a positive thing and this is where the amazing Holly Matthews comes into the picture...Holly Matthews is a former TV actress (Byker Grove, Waterloo Road, Casualty) and singer (Signed to Sony at 18, appeared on TOTP’s, MTV, Disney) who learnt how to use her ‘weird’ to stand out from the crowd. After the death of her husband to brain cancer in 2017, when she was just 32, the mum of 2 began her mission to help others to embrace their own ‘weird’, build their confidence and feel ‘more happy and less crappy’.The Happy Me Project runs events across the UK, is an online coaching membership, podcast and has seen Holly asked to speak and create workshops for Aldi, SEND prison, Sainsburys and wellbeing festivals across the UK.For all things Holly...Be weird (er) LiveThe Happy Me Project Membership Your FREE Weird is your Winning Edge Unmasking workbook + pep talkBuy your copy of ADHD Magazine here!Send me your little wins so I can celebrate you on the podcast by either sliding into my DMs on instagramor email me at audhdorjustabitweird@gmail.com Find your local ADHDAF+ peer support group here!Support neurodivergent independent businesses: Shop at Born Anxious using the code AUDHD15 for a special price! You can help support The Big ADHD Fundraiser by buying a Dave Kirkman hoodie here!Purchase your official hidden disabilities sunflower lanyard here!
