Congratulations you've made it to flowering! Harvest is right around the corner. Time to get your dry room in order. Setting up your dry room for success is a step not to skip or cut corners.  You've worked your ass off to get to this point. Believe me there is nothing worse than spending 6 months growing just to have dry weed that smells like hay. There are a lot of gems intwined in a conversation between two dudes in the cannabis industry. But I hope you find our past successes and failures and learn from them. I know I learned a TON! Special shout out to Tad Hussey the podcast host of: Cannabis Cultivation & Science. Thank you for leading the way and creating such an informative podcast. Personal Grow | Wade Laughter | Origin Story of Harlequin CBD | Lecture 109: Companion Planting

Aug 25th, 2021 10:00 PM

In Episode 29: I had the absolute pleasure of having a conversation with Wade Laughter. For those that don't know. Wade is responsible for saving one of our most cherished cannabinoids Cannabidiol aka CBD. His cannabis journey was one that has touched so many but none more than Wade himself. He is a true cannabis pioneer and I am honored to have been able to spend an hour with him. In this episode you'll hear the origin story of Harlequin. It's fascinating to hear how CBD was introduced into our lives. But then we get into growing cannabis. The benefits of starting with good genetics, making sure you have nice layers of mulch. Then onto Companion Planting: Wade gives wonderful suggestions for companion planting such as clover, rubella, elome. It is wonderful to hear such nurture and care that go into Wade's growing ethos. Truly humbling, exciting and motivating. Forever grateful for having the chance to speak with Wade. Thank you for everything you have done for the world in saving Harlequin. Personal Grow | Joshua Mezher | A Pot for Pot | Lecture 108: Pruning and Plant Care

Aug 18th, 2021 7:00 AM

In Episode 28: I had a great conversation with Joshua Mezher about taking care of our favorite plant cannabis. He gives a lot of amazing history of the plant and great advice. But as usual we always get to the same point of "less is more and don't over water". Biggest take away for me: Remove the lower large water fan leaves.  Use string or garden ties to extend the lower branches and put some pressure on the branch without breaking the branch. It will let the branch reach for more light and along with removing fan leaves which allows more air flow. Thanks for your time Joshua!RESOURCES: Personal Grow WebsiteMUST WATCH INFORMERCIAL | A Pot for Pot

Personal Grow | Johanna Silver | Author: Growing Weed in the Garden | Lecture 107: Sexing Cannabis Plants

Jul 29th, 2021 4:00 PM

In Episode 27: I had a sparkly conversation with Johanna Silver. Her background at Sunset magazine and her approach to gardening was fantastic. She was clear to make a point that it's just another plant. To use her own words: "It's fine. If it all goes wrong, you just do it again next year. The definition of a gardener is not someone who gets it. Right. It's like, if you screw it up and you still keep going, then congratulations. You're a gardener. You know, like that's, that's all, that's all it is. You just, you have a passion for the process. It sort of doesn't even matter what the final outcome is."BUT there is one specific outlier to the cannabis plant. SEXING: also known as Sensimilla which means “without seeds”. The term was coined in the 1970s on the west coast to describe seedless cannabis flowers that come from unfertilized female plants, specifically used to imply a high-THC-potency product. Sexing your plants to determine male from female is an integral step in producing seedless high cannabinoid plants. Males can be stored  in a closed environment for breeding. BUT...if this is your first year lets focus on growing healthy females. Johanna shared the difference between male and female. Luckily it is very similar to human anatomy. The Male has pollen sacks that are in a ball shape. Caution: your plants in their earlier weeks may all look like they are female. It takes time for the plant to reach the human  equivalent of puberty. Hope you enjoy this fantastic conversation with Johanna!Listen in on ClubHouse in the Personal Plant room to our Live Q&A with Johanna Silver on Wednesday August 4th @ 3pm.
