AUDIO: House Rep. Threatens Lawsuit Against Precinct Chairs

Aug 27th, 2025 10:20 AM

Lot of litigious people in this article today! We’ve got:* Reps threatening suits against precinct chairs.* LGBTQ reporters threatening lawsuits against their employers.* Party lawyers threatening protective orders against candidates. In the provided audio clip, you’ll hear an hour-long conversation between Denton County Republican Party Precinct Chair Aileen Blachowski and Representative Jared Patterson. In the recording, specific State Republican Executive Committee members are called lunatics, other representatives are discussed, and legal threats are made. The discussion focuses primarily on the Texas Republican Party’s recent decision to push for censuring incumbent Republican State Representatives who voted against the party’s principles or legislative priorities. In some cases, a censure could lead to an incumbent Rep. being removed from the Republican ballot altogether. The potential removal by the Republican Party of Texas has lead to some incumbent Reps. threatening to sue those involved with their removal from the ballot. We’ve highlighted notable exchanges in the audio below with timestamps. You’ll need to be a paid subscriber to listen to the entire audio and view timestamps. Subscribe here:* 00:00 - Rep. Patterson discusses the process/legal precedent of censure.* 2:54 - Precinct chair Aileen Blachowski brings up the issue with putting Jill Glover and Planned Parenthood supporter Cecile Richards on the same memorial slate. Rep. Patterson claims he wanted to get through the budget and not put any “political people up.”* 3:50 - Rep. Patterson explains what memorials are. Says the memorial “literally means nothing” and is an “administrative task.”* 5:14 - Blachowski talks about posturing and brought up a video where Rep. Patterson trolls the idea of teacher raises.* 8:15 - Blachowski admits she’s not well educated on the censure topic and doesn’t exactly know what is or isn’t censurable. “…it’s not clear.”* 8:33 - Rep. Patterson brings up that Blachowski can’t cite anything he’s done that is worth a censure.* 9:39 - Blachowski says she’s a single issue precinct chair so she doesn’t know much of what else is going on.* 11:00 - Blachowski brings up Rep. Patterson’s relationship with other state reps. A discussion is had about Rep. Andy Hopper.* 15:30 - Rep. Patterson asks Blachowski what he's done to deserve to be censured. She responds that she doesn't know.* 16:53 - Rep. Patterson says the censures are "a bunch of crap"* 18:05 - Blachowski admits she's uneducated on most issues because she's only focused on a single issue.* 19:42 - Blachowski says the most censurable offense is not voting for David Cook. (Activists, for the 100th time please stop crying over David Cook. Here is why he sucked.)* 22:26 - Rep. Patterson highlights that David Cook also reached out to Democrats for their vote and to offer them vice chairmanships. Many people forget this fact but Current Revolt readers know this because they’re well informed.* 23:41 - A discussion is had about SREC Member Christin Bentley. Rep. Patterson: "God she is such an idiot. I may send mail against her in her own district and highlight all the arrests against her for being a lunatic. She is a lunatic. A complete psychopath."* 27:11 - Blachowski says Bentley "wasn't a team player."* 31:18 - Rep. Patterson asks who, besides him, has done more to protect Texas kids. Blachowski responds with Senator Donna Campbell and Rep. Mitch Little.* 32:42 - Blachowski brings up Rep. Andy Hopper. Rep. Patterson says that Rep. Hopper isn't taken seriously as a legislator because he "talks shit to everybody."* 32:05 - Blachowski says Rep. Jeff Leach did well this session.* 32:30 - Blachowski says Rep. Harold Dutton did well on certain issues.* 35:15 - Blachowski: "Jeff Leach and Mitch Little did a lot this session."* 35:24 - A discussion about Rep. Ellen Troxclair and her struggles in carrying bills.* 37:37 - A discussion about reducing spending in Texas and why it's not going to happen.* 44:10 - Discussion surrounding Rep. Patterson blocking people on social media.* 46:15 - Rep. Patterson: "The last time a precinct chair tried to revolt against me I won every precinct in the district."* 48:03 - Rep. Patterson: "Real republicans aren't swayed by what Jackie Wakin thinks or Melinda Preston thinks, they think they're weirdos and they're not going to have anything to do with them."* 50:45 - About Rep. Patterson not being at Republican events. "They don't matter."* 51:48 - A discussion about Senator Hagenbuch and the scandal surrounding his filing. * 53:10 - Threat of suing precinct chairs. Rep. Patterson: "I hope every single precinct chair has the ability to lawyer up..."* 55:11 - Rep. Patterson: "Our state is going to flip because of these weirdos who think that every single person should be going to these Restore the Republic meetings..."* 55:33 - Blachowski agrees the infighting is a turnoff. Many people are saying that Rep. Patterson came off as condescending in the discussion. The audio was recorded without informing Rep. Patterson that he was being taped. (Texas is a single party consent state!) Additionally, Blachowski has put out a statement that is much too long that you can read here:We reached out to Rep. Jared Patterson for comment but no response was received. The threats of lawsuits against those connected to the censure and removal of reps is nothing new. Texas mega-donor Alex Fairly recently announced earlier this month that he would fund $20 million in defense of any censured Republican.Texas Tribune:Amarillo businessman Alex Fairly said in a statement Friday that he would tap into the $20 million political action committee he launched last year to challenge the censures in court if the State Republican Executive Committee goes ahead with plans to formally admonish dozens of GOP lawmakers in October.“The discussions taking place by the State Republican Executive Committee to block candidates from appearing on the primary ballot is not only unlawful, it’s disastrous for the Republican Party of Texas,” Fairly said in a statement, in which he vowed to “fully fund” a legal opposition effort. The good news for precinct chairs is that they do not need to worry about being sued as it’s starting to seem that while some Republicans may be censured, none will be removed from the Republican ballot. Especially with all the UNITY going on.Former Scorecard Employee Sues Texas ScorecardWe’re not going to get into much details here as the whole thing is rather odd but…A former self-admitted bisexual reporter from Texas Scorecard is suing the media org for…well a bunch of things and he’s being very public about it on X.He’s asking for $100 million dollars. Lol.Joseph Trimmer, the former Scorecard reporter, is suing the org for damages for lost wages, therapy, pain and suffering, and a whole bunch of other stuff that is much too exhausting to get into. He’s also asking for them to make a donation to an LGBTQ+ organization.Trimmer has also recently labeled himself as a “Catholic Prophet”Lots of work for Tony McDonald.Congressional Candidate Threatened With Protective Order by Republican Party General CounselAlexandra Schilling, candidate for HD85, posted a recorded conversation (lot of that going on lately!) of an X Space where the censure process was discussed. In a group chat, general counsel for the Republican Party of Texas, Rachel Hooper said she found the posting of the clip to be “weird.”Hooper later told Schilling that she might need a protective order against her.Schilling then called for Hooper’s resignation on X.Huh!
