079 - Should I Try to Fix My Books Myself or Hire Help?

Hey, hey, bookkeeping besties! Trying to fix your own bookkeeping is a lot like deciding whether to pull your own weeds or hire a landscaper. Both are totally valid at certain stages of life. I have some clients who have come to me, and just with a little bit of direction, education, and support have done fantastic DIYing of their own bookkeeping. I teach them to clean it up, then catch it up, and then keep it all straightened out. Actually, one of my very first clients who I taught how to use QuickBooks has circled back around, and now I'm doing full service bookkeeping for her, and when I got back into her QuickBooks, she had kept it up so well. I want to give you encouragement that it's doable to keep your own books, but I've also seen people with thousands of transactions left to be categorized, no reconciliations done, and a deadline for their tax preparer.
