This episode features Taylor Wettach, candidate for Iowa’s 1st District of the United States House of Representatives.  Wettach discusses the importance of showing up, listening first, and earning trust outside the usual political hotspots. The guys discuss why competitive primaries matter, what rural communities are actually asking for, and how respect, presence, and follow-through shape both campaigns and outcomes in rural communities.

State Representative David Jacoby joins the pod to discuss the sobering situation in Minnesota, Iowa Democrats plan to make property taxes benefit Iowans instead of the wealthy elite, and the state of bi-partisanship in rural legislatures.

Leading with Heart

Nursing researcher, women's health advocate, and former Iowa state senate candidate Nicole Low joins the show to discuss needed changes to how Democrats engage rural voters.  Additionally, the crew discusses rural health care access as Republicans continue to defund and take away local control of our critical rural government services. 

Hell Freezes Over

The guys attend Crooked Con in DC, moderate Senate Democrats make sure kids get fed and workers paid as they begin the process of opening the government back up, and hell has frozen over as Iowa Congresswoman Marionette Miller Meeks finally holds a town hall....in the most remote county in her district at 2pm on a Monday.  Unfortunately for her, it didn't stop her constituents from showing up and demanding accountability.
