Who Is This Babylon? [Podcast #008]

Who Is This Babylon? #008 Who is This Babylon? Want to help your friends and family turn their fear into faith. Listen to this broadcast as Don and William share testimonials of those who are learning about Covenant Eschatology. One of the most amazing transformations that people make is they break free from the fears that have shackled them especially surround the end times. Most of modern eschatology is nothing less than fear-mongering, the type of messages designed to frighten the wits out of people and keep them enshrouded in fear. As a result, they do not enjoy their Christianity but live in retreat from the victory of which they have been called. Armageddon is at the center of most religions discussions. People believe that a 200 million man army  will invade the world. Hal Lindsay once taught these armies would come from Russia, however, he has since changed his story (disregarded by many for the significance of such a shift in eschatological perspective.). Today, wars are fought more technically than with men. The military continues to implement technology, even planes, smart weaponry that do not require men. Yet, people believe that the imagery in Revelation which are symbols cast from their day and historical time versus today. This should be a huge clue in grasping the time, date and setting of the book. It applied to the first century, not to ours in the initial fulfillment. To understand Armageddon and the time of the great tribulation, it is needful to understand the meaning and time of the firstfruits who in the message of Revelation come out of the great tribulation. The study of the firstfruits decimates a futuristic concept of the message of Revelation.

Who Is This Babylon PodCasts Reaching More People Who is This Babylon? Don continues to share how listeners contact him to express their delight in the broadcasts and the current study of Who Is This Babylon. For the first time they are able to make sense of Bible, particularly of the prophetic texts which speak  Christ’s return in 70AD. One of texts that undergirds the Covenant Eschatology paradigm is Matthew 23:36 following showing how the events of 70AD affected the Hadean realm. All the blood of the saints was avenged in that event. How can that be if the event has minimal significance and application of the fulfillment of these events to the locale of Jerusalem and the first century? Apparently, those who raise this objection have not considered the fact that the cross was even less known than the destruction of Jerusalem. It too occurred in Judea. Were people outside of Jerusalem concerned about Jesus’ death on the cross? Does it impact anyone outside of the city of Jerusalem? Does its significance transcend time? Listen to this podcast to hear the connections between the significance of the cross and the Judean destruction by the Romans. Fulfilled Radio continues to expand its reach online while sharing the Who Is This Babylon series. Both Don and me continue to receive calls from around the country. In addition the podcasts reach extend from pole to pole, from Alaska to Australia. Thanks for listening. More On the Dating of Revelation Who is This Babylon? One of the major problems with assigning Rome as Mystery Babylon and using the latter date (AD 95) is that there is no major event shortly after that date that fulfills the prophecy. It cannot be said in any sense of the word that Rome’s destruction was at hand in 95 AD. Historically, Rome didn’t fall until 476 AD. That’s several centuries later than the first century. It does not qualify for an at hand fulfillment. Yet, this date is blindly accepted by so many learned and common men. We are inviting you to have an open mind to refocus on the actual evidence found in the book of Revelation and supporting texts of the New Testament. Other historical evidence such as the writings of Josephus also support the early dating of Revelation. The Battle of Armageddon Is this event future? Are the “signs of the times” evidence of an impending return of Christ. In this podcast we explain where there is nothing to fear about Armageddon. The truths found in Revelation removes much of the unfounded fear people have over the end times. A proper understanding of the Apocalypse and in fact a key to the book of Revelation is the proper identity of Babylon and dating of the Book of Revelation. Listen to this podcast to learn more.

The Exodus Motif in Revelation Who is This Babylon? Revelation chapter 11:8 speaks particularly of Jerusalem, i.e. the city which is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified. This is a clear reference to the Exodus motif and the bondage of Egypt. It alludes to Paul’s reference in Galatians 4:21-31 where Paul speaks of the two covenant mothers, Hagar, the Egyptian and Sarah, the freewoman. This is a very critical study and helps to not only understand the message of Revelation but the entirety of New Testament. Allusions to Deuteronomy 32 find a particular prominence in the book of Revelation. Please let us know if you enjoy having these podcasts available in iTunes. A question we pursue is why God used the terms Sodom and Egypt to describe Jerusalem? Also why does The Holy Spirit use the term Egypt to describe Babylon? The word Egypt suggested ideas and concepts to the Jewish mind that Rome did not. Get the answers to why Rome was called Babylon and why it does not meet the weighty evidence presented for Jerusalem.
