Gabbard was the first American Samoan to ever sit in Congress and she is also the first female combat veteran to run for President. This was only after going on hiatus from a booming career at Shell Oil Company as an engineer. "The Greatest Generation" is the term they are known by, and this particular podcast on Alfred Haws' harrowing experience during the Bataan Death March serves as a great reminder of why.
