Police Find Murder Plot Crumpled in Trash?! The Case of Patrick De La Cerda

In February 2018, 25-year-old Patrick De La Cerda was at home when he fell victim to an ambush-style shooting. His fiancée Jessica Devnani’s jealous ex-boyfriend, Gregory Bender, had been sending harassing messages to the couple for months. After a judge had issued a restraining order, the threats stopped… until the morning of the murder. Police followed a tip to check Bender’s home, where they came across a hand drawn map of De La Cerda’s house and notes that Bender himself made on how to carry out the murder.
