The primary Social Security trust fund from which retirement and survivor benefits are paid — the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance, or OASI, fund — is now forecast to be depleted by 2032, one year earlier than last year's estimate. Projections pin the 75-year shortfall at $30 trillion. According to the Bipartisan Policy Center, the revised timeline is the result of changes enacted in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. If a solution isn't found before 2032, benefits for future and existing recipients are expected to be reduced dramatically. The WNBA convened a task force to figure out what a woman is, emerged without an answer, scheduled more meetings to keep figuring it out, then scolded everyone else for the "hate and vitriol" surrounding the debate. Somewhere in all these meetings is WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert, who runs a women's league that still can't settle on who qualifies as a woman. Quite the predicament. The Associated Press called the race for El-Sayed Wednesday at 9:56 a.m., declaring him the winner over Democratic rival Haley Stevens. He led by 1% with 99% of all ballots counted. Speaking earlier Wednesday, before the race was called, El-Sayed thanked supporters for joining what he called a movement “built on the foundation of what this government was supposed to be in the first place, government of the people, by the people.” Also inflation was moderate in July, but energy prices remain elevated The Consumer Price Index for July showed prices rose 3.4 percent from a year ago as the war in Iran dragged on / and audio from Chris Matthews on 'Morning Joe' on immigration and borders the DSA would like to abolish.
