EP 60 | We Travelled To The Most Isolated Country in the World - Bhutan (Monks & Indigenous Villages)
A couple of months ago, Adam and I visited one of our bucket list destinations; The Buddhist Kingdom of Bhutan. A country most people haven’t heard of but if you have, it’s probably because it’s coined the ‘Happiest Country’, which famously prioritises its citizens happiness over national wealth (GDP). Bhutan is also known for being the first and only carbon-negative country in the world! Join us as Adam and I recount our firsthand experience from a 7-day road trip around the country. We answer questions from our Instagram community and interweave a conversation that we had with former Prime Minister, Ushering Tobgay, covering all things adventure, culture, tradition & sustainability. EP 59 | Walking 186km In 6 Days Along The Jurassic Coast | Juggling Adventure Alongside a 9-5
This week Adam sits down with one of his best friends, Sam. Sam is Adam’s most unlikely friend to take on Adventure since he loves his home comforts & relaxing on the couch. However, this all changed when Sam decided to challenge himself and walk the length of the Jurassic Coast - 186km in 6 days. This episode highlights how you can hold onto your steady job and not have to go off to live in a Van or a boat to find adventure. It can be something you weave into your day-to-day. EP 58 | Leaving Fear Behind. Advice from ‘Old Lady on the Trail’ aka 82-Year-Old Trekker, Mary E Davison
Imagine getting a knock on your door after dusk. It’s a woman in her 80s holding two hiking poles and carrying a backpack. She asks if she can pitch her tent in your garden for the night. She explains that she is a long-distance hiker and she’s known as ‘the Old Lady on the Trail’. And yes, she is alone and no, she is not afraid. Today’s guest is 82-year-old, Mary E Davison. She is a grandmother of 10, an author, a pastor & trekker with an impressive resume. Mary took up long-distance hiking at 60 and has since achieved The Triple Crown, walking the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trail (totalling 12,520km). All in all, Mary has traversed the most scenic, demanding & diverse trails in North America. In this conversation, we talk to Mary about what it’s like to defy the stereotype of what an old lady can achieve. She shares stories from 60 years ago, when she was in the Peace Corps & found herself travelling alone in her 20s in Egypt - an experience that taught her to be courageous all throughout her life. This conversation is so much more than an elderly woman doing an extraordinary thing. It is also about how you can learn to leave fear behind in pursuit of your own adventure. EP 57 | Life as a Blind Adventurer - Meet Chris Venter, Who Lost His Sight At 40
We had the pleasure to sit down & speak with Christopher Venter - an Adventurer, Author & Speaker, who at the age of 40 lost his sight completely. But instead of letting blindness stop him from leading a full life, it’s been the opposite. Almost a decade on since losing his sight, Chris climbs mountains, kayaks, drives unlikely vehicles & had even built his own house! In this conversation you’ll hear his backstory, his motivations, mindset, and the challenges he faces and how he experiences the world as a blind adventurer. Thank you for being here, thank you for listening.
