What does the assassination of a health insurance company CEO tell us about the mood of the masses, and what do such actions ultimately achieve?We also talked about how so many charlatans and agents on the self-identifying ‘left’ are hailing the fall of the Syrian Arab Republic as a ‘liberation’. Trumpeting imperialist lies, such people are the enemies of the working class; our movement will go nowhere and achieve nothing while they are allowed to continue in its leadership.We discussed the need to rebuild a genuinely class-conscious anti-imperialist antiwar movement which understands that the people on the front lines fighting off the west's aggressive regime change invasions are our allies and must be supported by every possible means. The fall of Syria is our failure as much as theirs – all of us who failed to organise ourselves to stop the criminal war machine in its tracks are culpable in Syria's suffering today. This is a key lesson that must be learned. Imperialism may be weak ripe for revolution, but it remains a dangerous beast, and it will not disappear unless we organise ourselves to bring about its downfall. Ranjeet Brar gave this powerful impromptu contribution to the Palestine Solidarity fundraiser organised by independent left journalist Crispin Flintoff on Sunday 1st December 2024.Attending the meeting were:Sarah Wilkinson independent journalists and palestine campaigner, arrested twice and expecting a third arrest for her brave solidarity with and journalism.Asa Winstanley of Electronic Intifada, also arrested twice for the crime of independent journalism.Yale Kahn, Jewish Israeli political dissident and anti Zionist Campaigner.Prof David Miller dismissed unlawfully by the University of Bristol for his legitimate anti Zionist views.Tony Greenstein, Jewish political author and expert on Zionism and Israeli history, currently being tried on a charge of terrorism for supporting the right of the Palestinian people to fight in self defence and for self determination. Reihania Ali, Neurologist being targeted by the Zionist Lobby for her advocacy of Palestine and anti Zionist Campaigning. The GMC are investigating a complaint against her and threatening her registration for standing against the Israeli genocide.We #gazagenocide had great pleasure meeting them and many more great comrades.
