The South African Law Reform Commission (SALRC) has published a discussion paper on ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION: A MEDIATION ACT FOR SOUTH AFRICA. Submissions on the discussion paper are due in on 30 April 2025.Attached is a recording of Hendrik Kotze, a long standing member of the Advisory Committee, as he explains the proposed Bill and its implications for mediation in the broader legal framework.Hendrik encourages all mediators and stakeholders to submit responses to the draft to ensure that it is a resilient and effective tool for dispute resolution.
