Birds of a Feather
This is Ken Ham, a publisher of the award-winning family magazine Answers. How do birds pull off flight so effortlessly? Well, multiple systems and parts must work together to get a bird into the air. All this week we’re looking at the intricacies of flight. When we think of what makes birds unique, feathers immediately come to mind. Now, these structures are marvels of engineering. They’re lightweight but wind-resistant. A system of barbs and barbules hooks feathers together with a sliding joint. This system acts like Velcro, incredibly strong yet flexible. There’s no way this complex system could’ve evolved from reptile scales. Feathers were created fully formed and functioning from the beginning. Why Did We Build a Life-Size Ark?
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit our popular full-size Ark attraction. I remember the firestorm of media reports when our full-size Noah’s Ark at the Ark Encounter opened in 2016. People wondered why anyone would build an ark—and many people accused us of doing it “for the money.” So why’d we do it? Well, because it’s a powerful gospel outreach to our increasingly secular culture. Through the Ark itself and the Ark’s three decks of exhibits, we show that God’s Word can be trusted from the very beginning. And if the history in God’s Word is true, the gospel message is also true. So we built the Ark to boldly and clearly present the message the world needs—the gospel of Jesus Christ! Which Is Bigger?
This is Ken Ham, contributor to the powerful creation magazine Answers, celebrating its 20th year. Yesterday, we learned that Noah’s ark wasn’t a cute little fairy-tale ark. It was a massive wooden ship over 500 feet long! Now, that’s almost 200 feet longer than the height of the famous Big Ben clock tower and longer than the height of the Great Pyramid of Giza! It’s one and a half football fields in length, and three NASA space shuttles would fit across the ark’s deck. The ark was a massive ship. Many of us are so used to seeing the ark as a little flimsy boat, we forget how big it actually was. Noah had more than enough room for two of every kind of land animal, food, supplies, and his family aboard the ark. Dig Deeper How Could All the Animals Fit on the Ark? Fairy Tale or Real History?
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit the world-renowned Ark Encounter in Northern Kentucky. When many people picture Noah’s ark, they see the cute little boat overloaded with creatures and a happy, smiling Noah. But that’s not what the ark looked like! The Bible describes a massive wooden ship. It was 510 feet long, 85 feet wide, and 51 feet high. There was more than enough room for the animals. We need to teach our children that the history in God’s Word actually happened. The ark was a real ship that survived a real flood. Instead of cute drawings that make the account look like a fairy tale, we need to show the ark like it actually was: a massive ship that saved mankind from the floodwaters. Why Is America Divided?
This is Ken Ham, inviting you to visit our life-size Noah’s Ark near Cincinnati in Northern Kentucky. Yes, America is a divided nation. Lots of people know this, but they’re not addressing the real problem or solution. America has and always will be a divided nation because there’s a spiritual battle that’s been raging for 6,000 years. You see, we don’t wrestle against flesh and blood. There’s a worldview clash because people have different starting points. It’s God’s Word versus man’s word. The spiritual battle for the hearts and minds in our nation isn’t fought with physical weapons. It’s fought with prayer, the authority of God’s Word, and the preaching of the gospel. It’s the gospel that changes hearts for now and also for eternity. Dig Deeper Why Is America a Divided Nation? Not Ashamed of a Biblical Starting Point
