Welcome to the latest episode of the N The Numbers Podcast (formally The Real STEAMy Podcast) with host Jarvez Hall of the East Metro STEAM Partnership. Today we welcome a special guest, Dr. Deborah Sipe, the PDX Bridge Coordinator at Mt. Hood Community College. We talk about the PDX Bridge program and resources available for young people ages 16 - 24 experiencing foster care, homelessness, or adjudication.
PDX Bridge at Mount Hood Community College is a transition program that helps youth find a pathway to college and a career. First-generation, low-income students receive financial assistance and the support of a college success coach as they start taking college classes with a community of peers. Priority is given to youth who have experienced foster care, homelessness, or adjudication. The best part? The program is completely free for its students. For more information, to refer a student, or to apply, email pdxbridge@mhcc.edu.
