Neurologist, Dr Lou Wiblin, talks to Experimental Psychologist and Cognitive Neuroscientist, Dr Elisa Raffaella Ferrè, about her vestibular research and how this applies to zero gravity situations such as space flight.
Her research focuses on how the human brain represents Earth gravity and adapts to non-terrestrial gravitational environments, such as weightlessness or the partial gravity on the Moon or Mars.
The neurology of life in space might seem niche, but there is a lot we can learn about how the brain works by viewing it adapting to a totally "alien" experience.
