02 - Answering the Call No Matter the Cost -Jay Collins: Green Beret + FL Senator
Jay Collins is a decorated warrior who first served his country as a Green Beret in combat, then his community as a non-profit leader, and now serves the people of his state as a Florida State Senator!
Jay recounts the fateful day in Afghanistan where he was shot and tells the inspiring journey of ups and downs across his Special Forces career - including ultimately having to have one of his legs amputated. Jay fought back despite missing a limb and having countless setbacks to lead an incredible life of service. Jay also tells us his calling into politics, his belief that more veterans need to step up to serve again, and some of the impact he's been able to make already in the State Legislature.

Host note - I’m a nobody blessed to chat with incredible somebodies about their experiences and perspectives on each episode of Prep For Impact. The opinions expressed on the show are mine and those of the guests alone -not the official position of GBF, our employers, the DOD, or anyone else. It is my firm belief that the true best way to “Prep For Impact” is to live a life under the Lordship of God the Father, saved by grace through Jesus His Son, and led along His path for your life by the Holy Spirit. John 3:16 - my DMs are always open if you’d like to learn more. Thanks for the support and Dios le bendiga todos.
